Are you between the ages of 18 and 49? Congratulations on mattering! You are advertisers most coveted demographic, which means you are the only people worth producing TV programming for.
That’s why the big news that YouTube now has more regular viewers between ages 18-49 than any cable TV network. AMC and TBS can kiss its digital ass.
On the other hand, cable networks seem to have figured out that whole “make a profit thing.” Although YouTube raked in $4 billion in revenue last year, Forbes reports that the video sharing service is still a money loser for Google (Google refused to confirm or deny.)
Making $4B a year and still not breaking even?! How hard is it to spend less than $4B a year?
You could buy Miramax four times over!
You could go round-trip to the Moon five times.
You could produce the next 16 Avengers movies (and require them to act out all your own personal, sick, fan fiction fantasies).
You could fund the campaign of every single candidate for the U.S. House and Senate (and require them to act out all our own personal, sick, fan fiction fantasies).
You could acquire the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises from Disney.
You could produce the next 100 original Netflix dramas.
You could hire P. Diddy to perform 4,000 private concerts for you and your friends (about 11 performances per day).
